VCT Americas Stage 2 preview: Format, schedule, how to watch
The final chapter of the VCT Americas season is about to be written. With Stage Two set to begin, teams across the world are staring down their last chance to qualify for VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Valorant Champions, the most prestigious VALORANT tournament of the year. Over the next several weeks, the stakes couldn’t be higher as powerhouse organizations, rising squads, and hungry underdogs collide with their seasons—and their international hopes—on the line.
In the Americas, 12 teams will enter VALORANT Champions Tour 2025 - Americas Stage 2, but only three spots remain for the Americas at Champions. G2 Esports has already earned their spot at Paris through the championship points, meaning the rest of the teams are left to scramble for the remaining slots. For some of the remaining teams, this split represents a final chance to redeem themselves and make sure this year wasn’t a waste. For others, this is a place to prove they belong among the region’s best.
Here is everything you need to know about VCT Americas Stage Two.
Meet Alpha and Omega
The 12 teams have been split into two groups, Alpha and Omega, in order to start off groups of the second stage. Some squads have drawn a tougher path than others, and will need to play the best VALORANT of their lives to survive.
Alpha Group | Omega Group |
---|---|
2G Esports | 100 Thieves |
Cloud9 | KRU Esports |
Evil Geniuses | Leviatan |
FURIA | LOUD |
G2 Esports | MIBR |
Sentinels | NRG Esports |
One key storyline to follow is G2 Esports, who will be playing for pride and the regional title. With their ticket to Paris already punched, their matches could be unpredictable—but for teams like Sentinels, every win is crucial as they fight for qualification.
In the Omega group, legacy organizations like NRG and 100 Thieves face mounting pressure. NRG, in particular, will be tested following the retirement of their longtime in-game leader FNS—a major shift that could either energize the roster or leave them searching for direction.
Full Stage 2 schedule and format
From July 18 to Aug. 17, these 12 teams will collide in furious competition to get into the playoffs. The top four teams from each group will move on to the Playoffs, where they will play in a double elimination bracket consisting of best-of-threes. These matches will be played all the way to the lower bracket final and grand finals, where it will be swapped to best-of-fives for maximum drama and excitement.
The top three teams in the tournament will make it to Champions Paris, so every game matters, superstar players need to step up, and leaders need to steel their teammates for the bright lights.
